Facial Prolozone

Prolozone® is an oxygen injection technique developed and pioneered by Dr. Shallenberger. When used in aesthetics, medical grade oxygen called ozone, is injected into the facial muscles causing a natural response within our body to build elastin and collagen, promote circulation and remove toxins. This results in the smoothening and tightening of wrinkles and skin. The overall result is a more youthful, natural dewy glow. Prolozone is a safe and natural alternative to botox or it can also be used in combination with botox to promote optimal results. A session of 3 or more is recommended

What is Prolozone and how does it work?

Prolozone is derived from the Latin word “proli” and ozone. “Proli”means to proliferate, regenerate, and rebuild. Ozone or O3, is a three-oxygen molecule composed of oxygen atoms. This is an entirely different molecule than the O2 in the air we breathe. Ozone is naturally present in the atmosphere, protecting the earth from the harmful radiation of the sun’s UV rays. Prolozone therapy combines ozone and oxygen to disinfect the skin and improve its overall appearance. As we age, collagen and elastin are produced at a slower rate which eventually alters the skin structure, resulting in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. As ozone is injected into the skin, circulation is re-established and the detoxification process begins. The enriched oxygen molecules that are injected into the skin cleanses toxins, impurities, and pollutants on a cellular level while boosting the ability of cells to produce collagen and elastin. This can help to soften wrinkles and fine lines, tighten or firm skin, slows down the aging process and produce an overall natural glow.

Is Prolozone safe?

Medical grade ozone is safe and effective. The use of ozone therapy has been around since the 1950’s. It has been used widely in Europe to disinfect and treat many health conditions. It is now gaining traction here in the United States, and is offered as an alternative treatment to traditional medicine that is minimally invasive.

Does Prolozone hurt?

With the correct technique, the injection is virtually pain-free; however, a topical cooling spray can be used with each treatment to help with the discomfort of the needle piercing the skin. Prolozone does not hurt after treatment is complete, and there is zero recovery time after the injection.
